Unusual Hohner
« on: April 15, 2019, 05:03:11 PM »

Hi all,  I’ve been lurking for a while.  This is my first post. I picked up this Hohner GCF box and it seems to have a pretty unusual button layout.  The C and F rows don’t seem to have the same offset from the preceding row as the diagrams I have found on this site- and there’s the extra button up by the F row.   I bought it from a person who originally purchased it used in 1958...
I’d appreciate any info or guidance regarding identifying this.

Thanks so much!

What notes does the extra button play?

I'll guess that this was probably a special-order (or possibly a very neat after-market modification) done for one of the players of the Steirische or of the Slovenian button box systems. Compare (for example):

Is there a button in the middle and/or inside row (C row and/or F row) that plays the same note in both directions?

I have a GCF Hohner that has a Stereische layout. I am pretty sure it is original.

It plays d/c and it’s very close to the c/d on the F row.

Thanks!  Is this a Stereische layout?
