Tune of the Month for June 2019: The Rope Waltz
Clive Williams:
Yay - it won!
Rope Waltz - I used to play this a long time ago - it's from Orkney, and here played by Lester: https://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.com/2013/01/tune-141-rope-waltz.html
There's a couple more versions of it (which appear to be more accidental loaded) here https://thesession.org/tunes/13443 though I will admit it's the standard non-accidental one that I used to play.
Happy playing!
Clive

Here's an attempt at the Ropey er...Rope Waltz. I'd not come across it before. I don't think it'll prove a keeper for me. There aren't many waltzes I can get too excited about.
It's played on the outer row of my newly acquired (in a bout of MADness) Hohner Koch Eb/Bb.

Nothing ropey about that. What a lovely sounding box
