Hohner Corona History
« on: May 23, 2019, 04:32:18 PM »

At one time I had a link to a German web site detailing the history of the Corona.
Is there a possibility one of you forumites may have that link.

Thanks

The index to Peter Unbehauen's information on the diatonic accordion, including historical information about Hohner Corona, Erica and Liliput, is to be found at

http://www.peterunbehauen.de/akkordeonspieler/index2.html

Just scroll down the page, past the pictures, to find it set out in a table.

If you stop and look at the picture James Garfunkel, Matthias Lischke, Peter Unbehauen 3, James is playing a 1920s Hohner Vienna style three row accordion, GCF, forerunner to the Corona III.  And so is Peter, in a picture that appears five pictures further down.

Dude rocks.  I dig the whole nautical thing he's got going on.
Love the picture of him and Flaco.
San Antonio is Coronaland, for sure.
My hunch is that they named the beer after the accordion, but it might have been the other way around.  ;)

I think it is somewhere on Peter Unbehauens web site

Looking at Peter's website evoked nostalgia for the lovely times I've spent with my relatives living in Hamburg. Naturally they played Hohner boxes at the boozy singing sessions. And when we finally left after our first visit they said "you must have an akkordion too" So my first button box ( a C/F Erica) ended up in our luggage on the flight home. And I'll never sell it.
