Single voice (smaller?) Baffetti ID
« on: June 19, 2019, 01:28:45 PM »

Trying to identify a single voice two row Baffetti model which seems smaller than a Black Pearl I saw played by the colorfully  garbed (to say the least) musician from the Molly side, "Gog Magog" I enjoyed at Chippenham last month.  As I remember it had a thirds block as well. I thought it had a really good loud voice and the size/weight was great. The only photo I have is from a video capture.

I reached out to Gog Magog and got my answer.  It's a Baffetti Noturno D/G.

Baffetti lists it as an "Art.84". If it's the correct one, and Im pretty sure it is. Not sure how to reconcile Baffetti's catalogs designation and the name of the model. Italian catalogs are a bit odd to me and not just the language.

Art.84 is two-voice. I haven't seen an 8-bass 1-voice on their catalogue.

Do you have a Hohner from 1934-1945 with a serial number on?
Send me a private message or comment on the German Accordion Problem spreadsheet to improve the statistics of the project and get an estimate of the production date of the box if it is not known.

yeah, I think I've got the nomenclature wrong. MM is a two voice?  I think of that as one voice as there are no options to add or subtract reeds... My bad.  Its the one.  Two voice then.

BTW I've since learned that this is also known as a Baffetti Noturno.
And it really is tiny and loud, A great little box, about the size of a Lilly, but of course two voice, not one as I misstated.
