I guess the answer is "no" then -- pity, we enjoyed the one in the Golden Lion a couple of years back. Well, mostly enjoyed... ;-)

Pity, I'd have been up for this. Will be in Sidders as usual and Whitby for the first time.

I think Jack Campin of this Parish has organised the flat session at Whitby in the past?

If there are enough of us maybe we could get together during the week at Whitby somewhere?  I seem to recall reading a week or so ago that Pete Acorn has kindly offered to have a notice board at his stall at Whitby.

OK, we have some takers for Wednesday lunchtime. Now trying to find a venue -- maybe Golden Lion?

Ended up at the Station because the Golden Lion was closed -- and very good it was :-)

But several people said they hadn't brought their flat instruments because no decision was made before the festival that there was going to be a flat session (me and Rich Arrowsmith decided in the pub on Sunday that it was going to happen come what may, and then dragged other people in).

Maybe next year there should be a collective Melnet "it's definitely going to happen" decision beforehand to avoid this, even if the details aren't finalised?

What, in this Melnet mainly non-ITM context, is meant by a flat session?

A session where mostly Bb/Eb instruments and their chums play tunes, we even play Irish tunes.
