Melodeon Playgroup 2020
« on: August 16, 2019, 07:05:04 PM »

The slumbering elves have been prodded with a sharp stick, and with much muttering have booked the Fleece and Village hall for 8th and 9th February 2020. The venue is so popular that we've had to get in early!

Announcements regarding tutors to follow in due course and bookings will open early October.

Just to say that I've had a couple of messages already asking for inside info - I'm stepping down from such an active role on organising this year so you'll have to hassle someone else, or better still leave them alone to weave their magic for now.

It's a  long weekend from Skye....but  I'm thinking about it. Even though I'm (still) a D/G free zone.

Absolutely commended to absolute beginners anywhere within 500 miles.

.

For a moment there ,I thought it meant the Fleece and Village hall at Dolphinholme, near Lancaster.

Now, that would have been very convenient.

Well, STUFF is happening - tutors are being lined up, workshops are being planned (I hope) and there is much keyboard tapping in evidence.

This will be our eighth year - gulp!

Bookings will commence early October - not long now  8)

Tenterhooks is what I’m on.😬

I've never previously seen the word "tenterhooks" written down. Having seen it, I had to look into its origins. I now know that a tenter was a large wooden frame used to stretch cloth while it was drying, and the tenter hooks were nails used to hook the cloth to the frame.

Melnet, as educational as ever!

TaDaaaaaaaaaah

Bookings are now open for our eighth Melodeon Playgroup  8)

https://melodeonplaygroup.wordpress.com/sign-up/   is the place to go, and (oddly enough) https://melodeonplaygroup.wordpress.com is the place to go for details.

We've already had one person sign up before telling anyone. Spooky.

We must be getting something right - 24 hours after opening the bookings we only have five places left for the Improvers' workshop  ;D

There are plenty of spaces for Absolute Beginners and Beginners, but only at the moment, so get in quickly!

Wow! Our Improvers' class is full - however we do have a standby list in operation should there be any drop-outs (so to speak!)

There are still spaces available for Absolute Beginners and Beginners.

Looking forward to it - I’ve booked for improvers and a friend is coming to the absolute beginners 🙂 I’ve just booked up to stay at the pub in my small campervan - will be the earliest in the year I’ve stayed in the van - will be packing all the duvets lol!

Yeah were in our van too - not quite the earliest in the year, we once camped at Straw Bear in our old Bongo but it's pretty early.  I hear the camping space is getting very full so we are certainly not the only ones.
