Hello all

I will be at Witney again, third time for me.  Doing A2 and B1, staying in the Fleece (if they haven't mislaid my booking) and playing(?) my Salterelle P2.  Won't be there till Saturday morning though.

Best wishes to all

Jeff from Enfield (making a rare appearance on this excellent site)

I think the Witney Roll Call must be a reference to Sandwich de Witney, the sandwich shop in the market square.
http://cotswolds.openguides.org/wiki/wiki.cgi?Sandwich_De_Witney

Note the following equation:

Tp = 90 - (Qint + Qext + Emin + K)

where:
Tp = duration of Saturday lunchtime practice time (mins)
Qint = number of people queueing inside the shop
Qext = number of people queueing on the pavement
Emin = length of time it takes you to eat your chosen purchases (mins)
K = a constant approximately equal to 45 x W-1, where W is your walking speed in mph.

Note that both Qint and Qext depend on the variables such as the number of shop assistants actually working that day, and the number and combination of items in your baguette (choosing avocado has a considerable impact on both Qint and Qext). Qext may also be reduced in magnitude according to the Michael Fish factor (difficult to quantify, but depends upon environmental variables such as wind velocity, temperature and precipitation intensity); both Qint and W may well be proportionately increased in such circumstances.

See you there.....

Amazing sophistry.

I've only three questions ...

K = a constant approximately equal to 45 x W-1, where W is your walking speed in mph.

1. Is x simple multiplication, or a vector product?
2. Why (and in whatever universe please) is this a "constant"?
3. What happened to SI units?
4. Who taught me how to count?

Amazing sophistry.
Well perhaps. But it works after a fashion.

The former. Although it could be a kiss, I suppose. Depends who you were with at the time of going for snap.

2. Why (and in whatever universe please) is this a "constant"?
Empirically deduced from numerous observations over the years that everyone going to the sandwich shop seems to arrive back at Henry Box at the same time. From which I conclude that we all have approximately the same length legs.

3. What happened to SI units?
Good question. Are you going to tell us?

Ah but have you factored in....getting someone else to go fetch the sandwich earlier before the rush?

I am hoping to be there for the first time this year.

I bottled it last year realising when I received the music I had chosen the wrong sessions.

No such problems this year but unfortunately now have an "old man's complaint" which could possibly scupper things.

Fortunately it's still a long way off so hoping to be fit in time.
