Camper van site at Whitney super squeeze?
« on: October 11, 2019, 07:09:19 AM »

Does anyone know where I can park a campervan for the duration of the event?
No hook up needed or facilities but a campsite would be ok if it wasn’t too far away.
Any ideas appreciated

Hi Jackie

Unless things have changed massively then you can just pitch up in the school car part. A note of caution - I haven't been since it ceased to be Melodeons at Witney, before my 'vanning days. I used to stay at the Witney Hotel (now Witney Guest House) but there were always several vans parked in the school car park.

In the past it has been OK for campervans to park in the school carpark, but I would advise checking with Dave Townsend first, just in case the rules have changed.
Be aware that:
(a) there are no hook-up facilites (which you've already said that you don't need)
(b) the gate entrance to the site is narrow, only about 8 feet wide (see here)
(c) The gate will be locked from about 10:30 pm each night.
(d) No pets allowed anywhere on site. Strictly enforced!

If you are searching on-line for other campsites, just bear in mind that the town is spelled WITNEY (no 'H').

Yep, and as the original post refers to a campervan there's unlikely to be a problem.
