Not necessarily, Eshed. An automatic bid which is high enough will trump all the last second bidders. My beloved buys from eBay all the time (yes, our house is bursting at the seams at the moment!) and rarely misses anything that she really wants; without paying over the odds, as well.

I'm sure I've seen a similar groove on an Anglo case. Neither of the Lachenal cases I can find has one, it may have been a German made concertina, but I have a clear recollection of struggling to get an Anglo out of the case because the strap screw hadn't been aligned correctly.

Correct! This is certainly the case (pun intended 8)) with my 30-button semi-miniature
Bb/F Lachenal Anglo. Without checking which one, at least one other of my 'tina cases
has this feature, which I think was only present in cases for the medium-high end of the
range!

If the case has a groove for the strap screws it is in a different position for Anglo or English.  The anglo screw is fitted closer to a corner,  and the position of the groove in the case is correspondingly close to the corner.

Sorry Mark, but computer speak and things are way beyond my capabilities. You might as well try to explain things like that to a monkey!
