Here is a version. Maybe the version. If anyone gets as far as abc-ing it, I'd like a copy of the abc.

Thank you Sir, you are a gentleman!

The tune is as played/danced by Hobos Morris so there is scope for regional variation, but it sounds right to how they do it.

It's a nice little tune. I've added it to my "Tunes I Might Eventually Get Around To" file  ;D
Maybe play it with The Amoco Stomp, for a Hobo's set.

I couldn't find a clip of Hobos dancing it but I found this - Goldfish. Note that it's played dotted here, so R:hornpipe might be an idea!

Here's a quick edit of Greg's abc ('scuse me Greg!) to get the midi to play properly and add the hornpipe swing.

None taken  ;D I don't care for abc midi playback much, so I never have it in mind.

One A for yourself then 6 x AB then A, I think.

I think you will find OY(A)6(AB)A is a way in Morris Dancing of denoting the order the music should be played. Most Morris tunes are devided into parts, usually parts A and B (sometimes C) as shown in the post. OY is not known to me but normally its once through for the player then the dance. In this case part A would be played while the dancers were still they would then dance 6 times through to parts A then B being played and then part A to finish.

I've not seen OY=One for Yourself before, but it makes sense. Certainly One for Yourself is what we call the first play through, if it's a whole part. If we only play the last bit of a Part as intro we just call it Short Intro

Widely used in these 'ere parts.
Normally we play a section of the music, usually an A, before the dancers start. This is to get the dancers into the tune, but also allows whoever is leading the dance to make sure they're comfortable with the speed and if necessary ask the musicians to change it.
Also helps to make sure we're playing the right tune for the dance  ::)  ::) (not infallible).

The OY may be played repetitively until the leader signals the dancers to start. Typically to adjust the speed, but if the dancers aren't ready to go, or we've just got bored of waiting for the set to form up and start playing to chivvy them along.

This is not invariable, some dances lead in on a single A and the dancers start on the B. Other times there is a short intro of maybe a couple of bars. Depends on the dance.

OY was used by Lionel Bacon in his seminal (Black) Morris Music book.
