Who was (is) Mrs Saggs?
I've heard the tune was written for a young lady about to get married, evidently to a Mr. Saggs.

Who was (is) Mrs Saggs? Does not the nature of the tune indicate the type of person. I see her as a stately lady needing a stately tune.
I am told the tune was written for a girl who was getting married and was to be called Mrs Saggs from then. So a sort of lament for having to live with a strange name?

I thought Mrs Saggs was a dog. Morris mascot, or something like that.

I've just asked via fb to quell the massive interest in who she was!
Hopefully might get a reply...……

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!

Of course. Now I remember. That's another great tune.

It's one of those that falls under you fingers if you do a bit of row swopping in the B part.

Always happy to row swap  (:)
Have a queue of things to learn, or at least a list of tunes to give a good work over and see how they go, so it will join the list.
The B music does sound fun!
