My French isn't that good so I translate the title as "Behind the Tiles". Is this a slang term for something in French? Perhaps Fred Paris trained as a plasterer? A comment on the Windows 10 GUI?
Carreaux also means "window panes", a more likely meaning.

Sorry Steve, I missed your post- yes you're most likely right. Not a meaning of "carreau" that I'd come across (I'd have said "vitre"), but it makes sense.

Cheers and thanks for extending my French vocabulary

Among others, Saltarelle Pastourelle II D/G; Hohner 4-stop 1-rows in C & G; assorted Hohners; 3-voice German (?) G/C of uncertain parentage; lovely little Hlavacek 1-row Heligonka; B♭/E♭ Koch. Newly acquired G/C Hohner Viktoria. Also Fender Jazz bass, Telecaster, Stratocaster, Epiphone Sheraton, Charvel-Jackson 00-style acoustic guitar, Danelectro 12-string and other stuff..........

It can be used to mean pretty much anything square or rectangular in my experience, but like any language - "context is everything". Never heard it applied to an array of melodeons, but who knows?  ;)

Can someone remember who gave me some advice on a recent tune of the month about accenting the weak beats? I can't find it and it does seem very applicable to this piece. I'm working on the piece now and it does seem to make a big difference - although it isn't an easy skill to pick up.

I guess it's play on "Derrière les Barreaux" -  "Behind Bars".

Here's a first go.Derrieres Les Carreaux paired with Pink Molly by Toon Van Mierlo. I'm aware that it's poor lighting, and that Pink Molly gets away from me, but as I'm trying to do these days, this is an honest take of where I'm at, sometimes it goes better, sometimes worse.

Both versions work but, if I can declare a preference, I reckon the "DG version" is the better.

It’s hard not to speed up tempo on this tune, especially on medium or slow tempo.
=> Metronome torture.. 😁

Even with the metronome it sounds musical. Top playing as usual.

I'm actually quite surprised by the tempo people are picking for this piece - I like this tune much more around Thoon's tempo, as well as Paul Young & La Chavannée - about 1/2=86.

It’s hard not to speed up tempo on this tune
maybe this is why

Actually, my DG version is only one notch quicker than Thoon's at 92bpm, and 2 notches quicker than Paul Young's. I suspect theirs sound slower still because they have so much more control.
I don't mind coming off poorly compared to those great versions. (Not that I'm accusing you of picking me out, Gena - I'm not sensitive to comments from nice people).

I've sort of known this for a while, so it's been nice to have a serious go at it.
Fortunately (for you) my recording skills are not up to making it public.
