Accordions made of oak

(1/8) > >>

komat:
Wondering if anyone has any experience with making or playing accordions from oak. Can’t say I’ve done either myself, but I’m curious to know if it has any nice qualities to make a decent box.

mory:
Castagnari 1 row melodeon is made from oak but I think it's American white oak (of kitchen furniture fame) rather than English or European variety (willing to be corrected) still my favourite melodeon for Irish and there's been a few  ::) All the Best mory

Steve_freereeder:
I had a G/C Lilium which was made of what I believe to be White oak (but possibly Ash?), with decorative Padouk inserts.
Plays beautifully with a great sound. Sold to another forum member  ;)
