Hohner Identification
« on: November 14, 2019, 12:37:00 AM »

I thought this was a Hohner Imperial I, but now I"m not so sure. It does not have the word Imperial on it and all other Imperial I's that I've seen have metal grills. Any thoughts on what model of Hohner this actually is? I have an Imperial IIa and this is about the same size with fewer but larger keyes. 2 voice.  Thanks

This type of Hohner piano accordion with 12 bass is usually called Student II.  In fact, here is a YouTube video of a Student II that seems identical to the box in your picture.  Imperials are more compact, with smaller keys too.

I agree...a Student II...without any sign the Student II decal. Yeah...I thought it a bit large for an Imperial and the lack of any name other than Hohner threw me off. Thanks Tirpous.

25 keys in the op photo - definitely a model targeted towards beginners. I need 26 for a lot of tunes.
