Another tune played by Harry Cockerill
« on: November 22, 2019, 12:33:41 PM »

I have recently acquired a recording of Harry Cockerill playing for a village dance about 40-50 years ago. While I am already familiar with most of the tunes he played on this recording, the one below is troubling me. Is it a traditional tune? Is it a popular tune from the 1920s-1950s? Is it original to Harry? Does anyone recognise it?
The name I have given it is quite arbitrary and I would prefer to find the correct one.

Thanks for looking, Hugh.

With regard to the G#, Harry used a lot of chromatic notes in his playing. This might be because chromatic playing was common in the dance tunes and songs popular in the 1930s-1940s era.

Don't recognise it - although it is such a catchy tune sounds like I should know it.  Now I'll have to find which box to play it on or how to fake the low C# in the  B music on my standard D/G's.
