Occhi Chorni ... Russian folk tune
« on: December 31, 2019, 01:55:21 PM »

Many of you may know this tune. I’ve been obsessively playing it on a PA, trying to work out the variations. It’s a very catchy tune and this performance is brilliant in its simplicity. It showcases for me the reason why the PA or CBA has a place alongside diatonic button accordions, if the right tunes are played on it  (:)

Fab - Beautiful music and lush imaging. I do like a nice pa though!

No, no that isn’t me. I wish it was.
It is Sergay Yatsko playing (I think).

Indeed a beautiful piece beautifully played.
I have two issues with it though. These days I look for videos that I can learn while listening. Some might argue that this is belittling the sound of music.
The second issue is the division of right and left balance. As I listened to it on headphones, I noticed that the right treble was routed directly to the right side and the bass to the left. This is not  natural.
I watched a YouTube video of someone explaining how to mix the recording. If anyone is interested, I'll try and look for it.
Sincerely,
Simon from the Holy Land
