Time signature - Young Alvin - Tim van Eyken

Ok this one is defeating me. I'd like to have a go at this tune

5/4 divided as 2+3
i.e. with strong beats on 1 and 3.

Historical interest department: The original recording.

And I mean the original: Packie Manus made it up "for the record" (literally) and must have had a quiet chuckle when others were happy to assume it was traditional. He even attributed it to a family of travellers in his autobiography, involving yours truly in perpetuating the myth!

Packie Manus Byrne's singing is in a very relaxed 6/8 time with breaths and pauses as needed (in true unaccompanied folk style).

This is my favourite track on this cd and I’ve loved it for years. I never considered it to be something I mightbone day play, but I do love the box sound on it. Great rhythm too! One day! I just need the left hand chords and time to listen and listen and listen! 😅
