Tunes for learning by ear: When Daylight Shines
« on: January 23, 2020, 11:50:41 AM »

Here's my third tune demo for this week.

Thinking about it, I should mention that think there are a few spots where I find it's handy to pull a B note off the D row - beginners might find that particularly useful.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you, Gavin.  As a non-noter, I REALLY appreciate these tutorials that you create!

Excellent! I need to make the Youtubes for workshop members who don't read and it would be churlish to not share them.

They're absolutely not intended to be the final word on how the tunes must go or how to play them - variation is a key element of informal music and I'm sure I will still be learning for years to come.

Well that's something new, I've been playing this tune for years with a C# in the 3rd bar of the B tune. :o

I've checked the music and its definitely not there at all, its a straight B.

only it does sound nice with the C# D cross over

That's one of the joys of informal music!
