Very fine. How are you finding one row stuff compared to your semitone experience? And it looks like the response is nice and light too.

Also: are you the sort of player that could slow the whole thing down for a much closer look, or do the ornaments only come to you naturally at a higher speed? I'd be interested in walking through that tune at a much slower speed as a learning tool.

That has a great lift to it. You seem to be getting the hang of this.

It's coming naturally I think. You have to invent ways of doing embellishments, but that can be overdone as well.
I like to keep things traditional.
I play a lot of C#/D and B/C, so the one row is a bit of a walk in the park really.
The trick is to choose tunes that fit well. Of course, some tunes don't fit at all.

It's not something I have given a lot of thought to...I can do the twiddles slow or fast...I think.

Try the slow down facility on YouTube.

Pete, it occurred to me that your one-row is in the key of C.
The tune is normally played in E minor, but I have recorded it in D minor for you so that you can busk along to it on your box.

Cooley's reel in D minor.

Excellent, Pearse. Have fun with it Pete, there's a lot of very subtle stuff in there to keep you (and me) busy for quite a while!

How great is that? Faster than Amazon Prime. Many thanks.
