ITM camps for C#/D
« on: February 28, 2020, 01:08:14 AM »

Just wondering if anyone know Irish music summer camps have instructors for C#/D boxes? Seems like most only teach B/C.

There's the Catskills Irish Arts Week, East Durham, NY. July 12-18, 2020.

Patty Furlong is teaching C#/D there this year.

You could get Damien Connolly to give you a private lesson or two while you're there. He's known as a B/C player but he's great on C#/D too.

Thanks you Steve! We'll see how the Coronavirus is affecting travel this summer. I've got a two week bike trip planned for Italy, fingers crossed.

Hi Patrick,

Don't know where you're based, but there is a weekend opportunity in the UK coming up in the Autumn ...

Jackie Daly (master of the C#/D!) and Matt Cranitch (fiddle) are over for a week or so and starting off their tour with two days of workshops in Lewes, Sussex. First day is for any instrument, tunes from Sliabh Luachra, and the second day is instrument-specific.

Sat 17th & Sun 18th October:  Lewes Saturday Folk Club. More details here: https://katiehowson.co.uk/jackie-daly-matt-cranitch
