The physical machine this forum lives on has to send pages out to your kit and uses your NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN 'IP address' to do this. NNN are numbers ranging 0-255. Look at your own posts.
The software that runs the forum logs the IP address used for each poster and posting, but only
displays yours. 'Logged' just is a cypher to cover the hidden addresses of others. Clicking it gives this explanation in another form
An admin could use the IP log eg to tell that I am posting from work rather than home just now.
But it's more useful whan a rude member has to be banned (not
here ) and then comes back in under a new alias and email address. Running stats on duplicated IP addresses will usually pick this up. I've seen it happen on other forums.
