Hello from Windy Nook, where I'm taking a break from melodeon related labours for a chicken sandwich and a bit of computer time.
My beloved and I are in the process of completely renovating my deceased Mother's ground floor flat for our own use. And....I've got my own work room!!! I now have space, which I'll eventually show you in comparison to my old cupboard.
As part of he work on the flat, we had a new kitchen fitted and I'm using a lot of the waste stuff to fit out the work room, even down to using some of the old chipboard (I know, it's just rubbish and not really up to the job, but I have it, and at no cost!) to construct a new tuning bellows, to the simple design which I first posted (later deleted) in Pat's thread the other week.
I thought that I'd bore you all with some pictures and to let you know that the design works just fine, but for how long, due to the (poor quality but free) materials used? Who knows. In any event, I'll know if the design suits me for the long term.
In the first two pictures, they're temporarily fastened to the bottom of a wall cupboard, fully closed, then fully open; and then in place, fixed under the cornerwise worktop under the window. When left to drop open under their own weight, they sound a C4 reed for 10.67 seconds, which will do for my needs.
