I wasn't going to pay too much attention to this/post, but then I saw what she was playing: I'm a big sucker for Libertango!

I'm quite impressed by how many notes she's able to play at once - that can take rather a lot of puff. I was also curious what kind of instrument she plays: it's a Hammond 44 (per the description) - or some version thereof, which are apparently made by Hammond & Suzuki together, so, I suppose that technically makes this a melodion? A lot of detail about it on their website: http://www.hammond.eu/Products/ProductDetails?product=HA44%20(PRO-44H)

I may add this to my 'reason to learn libertango' playlist, which currently consists of these two melodeon videos; this and this.

Outstanding performance!  She almost makes the sound of the melodica acceptable...

There is nothing in that second video that would be beyond most players here. Perhaps someone wants to write the parts out...

Nothing wrong with the melodica concept, or indeed the accordina version popular in SE France, Lombardy and Flanders. As ever it’s all in the quality of those reeds.

The original Hohner type my Dad brought back from Westfalia in the 1960’s was great fun, and probably first stimulated my interest in free reeds.  There have, I admit, been some disappointing versions since  then.

Well played here! Planned to try this Am tango some time back. Thanks for a reminder 😀

Nothing wrong with the melodica sound per se, I think.  (:)
