Hi,

The new Sandpiper G/C Melodeon arrived yesterday, and it's my first encounter with a diatonic instrument. It was converted from a 4th button start to a 3rd button start with accidentals by Mr Sandman himself so I feel reassured that it's been well looked over as well.
I left the PA about 4 years ago over my frustrations with the RH keyboard angle, but strangely not having such problems with the LH, which I found to be very intuitive..

So far concentrating on the RH, Ive been practicing the C and G scale, Speed the Plough in C and the Brahms lullaby in C. As of 9.00 today I haven't played anything yet so it'll be interesting to see whats's stuck.

Here goes!

Bob.

Welcome. GC is good for lots of French tunes.  :D You’ll enjoy it, I’m sure.

Hello Bob, and welcome indeed! I'm sure that you'll have great fun with your new toy. I had a nice G/C a few years back, and it gave me a great deal of enjoyment. I found it good for playing .......... tunes!

Many Thanks. I chose the G/C because I liked the melodies that turned up on YouTube when I searched for the G/C tuning. The second day of practice has gone ok, and I've started to learn the tunes on the G row. This takes me to a new subject that I'll start a new topic for, but I first need to gather my to thoughts to be able to ask the right question..

You might need to brush up on your French.
I'm converting my spare DG to GC for the same reason.
