replacing thumbstrap old pokerwork models
« on: January 18, 2008, 09:59:44 PM »

On a hohner pokerwork, I wanted to replace some old remaining leather residuals by a decent new thumb strap. The old strap was not fitted with screws, but with something like 2 jeans buttons (sorry, don't know the proper english word for it). How do I remove these 2 without damaging the back side of the key board? Drill it out, or is there another trick?
Thanks,
Marien

Hi Marien

In English they are called rivets.
Yes they will need to be drilled out.

Before you start its essential to remove the keyboard housing from the instrument, so that you can support the back of the keyboard while drilling, and to remove the inside ends of the rivets.
