Virtual workshop in the time of Corona
« on: April 21, 2020, 06:48:19 PM »

Here is a solace: https://diatonischnieuwsblad.nl/  I highly recommend Pascale Ruben's tune. Shameless, I know. ;D Video https://youtu.be/LGFi0NFtroI Sheet Music https://diatonischnieuwsblad.nl/content/uploads/2020/04/mazurka-for-the-fantastic-mr-doc-jones-kopie.pdf

The back story from a Belgian friend:

It is an initiative of Diatonisch Nieuwsblad (Diatonic Magazine), which was a magazine on paper until the beginning of this year. Because of a lack of volunteers, it temporarily stopped. We were just trying to revive the magazine when corona happened. That’s why we had the idea of making an online issue of the magazine instead. we decided to start a YouTube playlist for the diatonic accordion: we asked several teachers to make a video with one tune, and also provide the sheet music so people can practice at home, now that all workshops have been cancelled. We hope to be able to publish a printed magazine in 2021 again. The playlist on YouTube will probably still grow, because we asked other musicians too and some need a little more time.

You can find the entire playlist on YouTube here:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOSFJGHzYES_ZRs0u4HWdYDpEMqI6-2iM

And the sheet music for all the tunes here:https://diatonischnieuwsblad.nl/

From Diatonic Magazine (translation mine with help from google)

Dear subscribers,

In these days of Covid-19 with lockdown all lessons, workshops and music weekends have been canceled and we only make music in home isolation ourselves, the Diatonisch Nieuwsblad wants to reach out to you digitally.
We asked various teachers and editors to choose a choose or compose a tune, play it and make a video of it. They also supplied the sheet music so that you can learn to play and play the piece.
And, because we all have it hard enough, completely free! Please also share this page with non-subscribed friends, everyone can participate.

Thank you for that. It’s a lovely tune, beautifully played by Pascale.  (:)

And the resource as a whole looks quite excellent.  :D Lots to explore!  :||: :||:
