Here's another minor tune from me 'The Mumping Maid' which I found on Folktunefinder. The info there says it's from a book of dance tunes from 1932 called Maggot Pie, about which I know very little. It doesn't seem to attribute the tune to any particular composer, but I get the impression that they were all modern tunes (at least they were in 1932!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l5eJTEmlcU

As far as I can ascertain 'mumping' means deceitful.

Mazurka Limousin. Sadly not long enough to dance to.

Thanks...I really like that tune. We used to play it with a slightly less rhythmic feel and follow it with Femme de Marbre by Stephane Delicq.

Also thanks for the nice comments about my Chale Bleu.

Thanks for that. Nice to hear minor tunes that aren't slow airs or slow dance tunes  (though I do like them). This bounced along nicely. Trouble is, I've got an earworm now.   (:)

Here is our version of the tune Theme Vannetais based on our playing for Sheffield women's dance team Lizzie Dripping for their dance 'Twiglet'.

The tune was originally composed by Jean Choucun of the band Tri Yann and used for the theme music for Picou Fils de son Père, a Breton television serial from the 1970s. It has since been adopted by many English Morris and Border dance teams for their own versions of 'Twiglet'.

Jan plays a Castagnari 'Laura' melodeon in D/G; Steve plays a Castagnari '1914' melodeon in D/G

Not usually too keen on that tune because so over-played, but I really like what you two did with it, both the driving rhythm and the build-up of variations.
[makes mental note to look out for Lizzie Dripping when we're all allowed out to play again!]

Yep, very enjoyable Steve and Jan, thank you for that.
Lovely to hear such tight playing, and variations too.
Well played both!

This is an old Eagles number, in Eminor. A bit different to the original but don't shoot the melodeon player ... he doesn't know any better.

One of my favourite tunes, I owed it a new recording since the previous one was done in a park during a freezing English November (I'm from the Middle East!) on an out of tune box.
Here's the minor version of Young Collins:

Lovely tune and playing!
I just hope my girlfriend doesn't hear about this. I have no problem with marrying, but the last thing I need is expectations for tunes to be written for her.  ;)

I really liked that one, so very bouncy!  :||:
