Thank you, Steve.  :|bl

Copies were posted this morning to everyone who placed an order over the weekend. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed researching and writing it.

Hopefully, I will hear you playing some of the tunes at sessions or festivals when they resume in the dark and distant future.

Just got back from a walk and on the doorstep was.... a lovely present! Thank you Bob it has arrived safely.

I've just flicked through, this is an extraordinary work.
It is not just a simple tune book.
It's beautifully presented and drew a 'oh that looks lovely' from my wife as  I opened it.
I now realise what Steve means in his comments above.
I shall enjoy reading this with the promise of tunes and stories from an area I no little about.
Thank you Bob, this is a treasure!
Best wishes

I'm glad that Q, Peadar and Ann are happy with their purchases. Another 20-odd books were posted today so should arrive within the next couple of days.

I have had a chance to look inside this beautifully presented book now -only a quick flick through but enough to confirm that this is well researched, well written and well laid out. A social study as much as a tune book. I particularly like that Bob has chosen to present tunes both in the key they were collected and in the keys modern day musicians are likely to use....and then the physical presentation - hard cover, spring back binding, clear type, sharply printed staff notation and illustrations, it even smells good. This is a book to be read and enjoyed.  Thanks again.

After only spending an afternoon with it, I’ve begun to realise what a fabulous book this is. The amount of work and the level of care and research is of the very highest order. Congratulations to Bob and everyone else who had a hand in it. It’s something to be proud of.  :D :D

Can I just put in a public word of thanks for Bob's help in organising sending a copy to me in Cyprus?   Apparently I was the guinea-pig for overseas orders and I have to say that Bob could not have been more helpful or more efficient. My copy is now en route to me and I look forward eagerly to its arrival.

Thanks, Andy and Graham. Your books were posted yesterday along with several others. Andy's should arrive shortly but I have no idea how long a package will take to travel between Wensleydale and Cyprus.

There is another melnet thread called There was None of this Lazy Dancing! which is the title of my book. Can I suggest that it would be more appropriate to place posts about my book on that thread rather than this one?

In normal times, 2-3 weeks; probably twice that as things are at the moment. I'll let you know when it gets here!

Well, a copy arrived in Lancaster yesterday. It is a beautiful book, and full of incredible detail. I love the historical notes, the photographs and reproductions of sources. The writing is engaging and full of fascinating insights and snippets from earlier sources. The whole book is melodeon friendly (hurray!) with tunes presented both in their originally-notated keys and DG friendly keys. There's a collection of popular dance instructions at the back. And all presented in a really high quality binding, that looks and feels great and allows the book to lie open flat. Did I mention it was beautiful? I'm so glad to have bought this - thank you Bob for such an incredible amount of work. (And it's a bargain!) I've got my Bank Holiday sorted...

Bob, my copy arrived safely today and the feedback already posted really says it all  ;D

You should be immensely proud of what you have achieved in this excellent book. All those months and years of research have culminated in a book which is much more than just a tune collection, but really brings the tunes to life in their historic context. Thank you!

Cheers, Andy

Wow. Mine has just arrived at lunchtime today.  It is a beautiful book and the amount of research that must have gone into this is incredible. Great stories and information throughout.  Thanks Bob and I hope I will be able to say thank you in person in the not too distant future.
