Have melodeons, will play

I find myself in the Hamburg area for a while (currently staying in Stade) and in the mood to do some playing. Does anyone know if anybody is getting together around here? My background is in English and Scottish music, particularly dance music, but I'd love to learn more about North German music. Life here has normalised more than in the UK and it feels like time to be taking soundings.

Lucky you - I wouldn't mind being back in Stade right now!

I've had some good times at sessions in Hamburg, but they were playing mainly Irish tunes.
If you went to the Irish Rover session they might be able to put you in touch with musos playing North German tunes.

Some older local musos I played with were into shanties and local folk songs. Great fun when the schnapps was flowing  :||:
I've still got a book of their songs filed away.
