Sidmouth Online Festival
« on: July 29, 2020, 03:33:17 PM »

Sidmouth Online Festival starts this Saturday with various events to tempt melodeon players. John Spiers and Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne are among those taking part in a concert on Saturday afternoon; Nick and Mary Barber are delivering a series of Big Band Workshops throughout next week; I will be offering two Melodeon Workshops for Relative Beginners and one for Intermediate Level players as well as a couple of Well-Known Tunes at a Steady Pace sessions, all delivered via Zoom. If any of these interest you, check out the Sidmouth Festival website for further details.

I’ll be joining you as usual Bob. And you won’t be able to hear me noodling! 😉 :||:

I appreciate that most of you aficionado's are participating in, if not running Zoom play-a-rounds and so on, but as a beginner who finds the concept a bit forbidding, not least as I have three dogs and a 'crocked' wife to contend with as background distraction, I can recommend Bob's ( & Janettes ) Sidmouth offering/s.  Sensibly paced and structured ( for beginners at this particular session ), laid back, but progressive and he had NO IDEA  :-X  :||: :|||:how much noodling was going on off-mike!

Pre-loaded with PDF offerings for those who 'can' read music, and fingering/bass-chord/'extras'.

As an aside, for those who find the Rugby Club and it's 50 Melodion/PA's in concert & 'cacophony' a bit over-whelming ( = headache inducing ) it makes for a gentler learning environment to have just Bob and his 'bling' box to concentrate on.

Slow session tonight and Intermediate/A.N.Other beginners session later in the week to loo forward to.

Thank you for the kind comments, Nigel.  :-[
I am glad your found it useful and enjoyable.

Who says I had no idea about the noodling? Jannette was making notes and the anti-noodling mafia will be paying you a visit in the next few days!  >:E

You’ve got me worried now Bob!  ;)
It was an excellent workshop yesterday morning and I played Rattle the Cash at a small outdoor/zoom session this evening. Looking forward to the Orcadian waltzes on Friday. Cheers, David

Thanks for correcting me Bob. This is the busiest week I’ve had since February and I’d have hated missing your workshop.
