It's not by any chance "Loch Maree Islands"? First track on this album.

Alternatively, "The Shores of Loch Bee", sometimes called "The Sands of Loch Bee" the first tune on this track.

If either, I have the music for both of them.

Thanks Bill for the research, but it's neither of those - I like the 'Shores of Loch Bee' though and would much appreciate the dots.  I shall set about working out the notes and see if I can track it down that way.  Of course, if I manage to get the tune down on paper, the job's done... ;D

Is this the one?

Well spotted, Graham. I should have thought of that one.

Music for "Shores of Loch Bee" attached. (Loch Bee is in the north of South Uist, btw).

In case the GS MacLennan retreat march is the right one, I've also attached a box version, with chords (no seconds, unfortunately).

That's it!  Thank you Graham for the suggestion and the dots; thank you Bill for both sets of dots.  Brilliant!  Now for the brain challenge.. :||:

Glad to be of some help (:)

(.... somewhere in the dark depths there was a whisper of the Alexander Brothers singing a version of by the shores of Loch Maree... the rest is history  ;)) [just wish it was as easy to remember me name  ;D ;D]
