Two Hohner Clubs in C/F, a browny grey celluloid one midway through a major restoration and a lovely wooden Erika that needs tuning, new valves and declubbing.

I still legally own and have in my posession a 23 button, 12 bass, 3 voice Jorgina in D/G but I've agreed the sale and it'll no longer be mine after the 19th of this month.

Currently sorting out the Take It Away scheme paperwork for a D/G Castagnari Tommy. I wanted it to be the custom Sander originally ordered for me that I got fed up waiting for that Rees will have for sale imminently but I can spread the cost with the Tommy.

I also have one of those toy melodeons that are great for comic effect and annoying people you don't like and have previously owned a red Chinese Erica, (my first box), and an Excelsior somethingoranother, both in D/G.

Have you voted as there is no entry in the 5-7 catagory?

I have now!

I'm selling off and loaning out in order  to cut 6 to 2

That's a bit drastic, isn't it?

Maybe there should be a poll for "How Many Melodeons Does Your Wife/Husband/Significant Other Think You Have"

Or perhaps "How Many Melodeons Doesn't Your Wife/Husband/Significant Other Know You Have".  >:E >:E >:E

Or am I the only one here who has to sneak them in under the cover of darkness, usually along with a box of chocolates, just in case I get caught????? :|bl :|bl :|bl :|bl

3 currently - Main box a Salty pastourelle 11 D/G, a ? 1960s Corona 111 C/G/F (LMM reeds - is this unusual?) and a Verde D/G two row.

Maybe the question should be "how many boxes do you own that you never play?" - The Verde falls into that category since I got the Saltarelle and I wonder if I should sell it on?  Seems a shame that it never comes out of the box.

Should this be a new thread?

Matt

It could make quite an interesting new thread, and might result in some of them seeing the light of day again.

For me, I never play my 3 Hohners. My C/F is unplayable, my D/G (my first box) never gets used but I don't want to get rid of it, and I want to keep my A/D in case I ever need one again. None of them would fetch very much if I sold them.
On the other hand, I wouldn't keep an expensive box if I wasn't using it, partly because of the cash tied up and partly because it's a shame to see a good instrument going unplayed. (with all due respect to the Hohners, of course!)

Yeah it feels more comfortable, balanced and my fingers can reach the buttons without the stretching. And i can use the airbutton without closing the bellows suddenly.

It varies. Mainly two- a one row 4 stop hohner and a D/G hohner erica. I have owned many more and at one time I had 5 of my own and my girlfriend had two. She still has two and I've reduced my collection to two. SHe is however trying to sell on of hers, ot's advertised on here.

I currently own 3 concertinas and have two on loan!

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

Malcolm I know you have at least one more melodeon this week but being a repairer you have an excuse!... this has now brought me down to 7. 2 Hohners one rows in G and 2 in C, all used for teaching Nariel style. Then there is the Lily, the Corona and Panther...

Having taken a few minutes to think about it I get to 14

The 3 I play most often are
DG Pokerwork
DG Tommy
DG single voice Oakwood

These I play mainly at home
Hohner 1 row  stops in C D and G
Oehrli Schwyyzerorgli, and Miniorgli
Amoretta sport 35 - Old German CF with reeds, similar size to a Lilliput, but reeds an long plates.
Hohner CF, currently being fettled by Theo
Hohner Club III  Eflat/Bflat
Schylling toy melodeon

And there are a couple of old ornamental 1 rows

My wife says I have too many, but I still think they take up kess space than her piano - a long as I don't count the 2 anglo concertina, 1 English concertina, flutina, old 12 bass PA, and a few other 'toys' that I play with sometimes.
