Sorry, it is an mp3 exported from Audacity which is usually OK.
Here's one in a different format.

Heremus and tef format, whatever that may be. I guess the latter is for TablEdit.

It's a schottische. I'd like to learn it, but it is so similar to the Schottische a Bethanie that I think I might get them confused.

[edit] Sorry Easedale, didn't mean to put anyone off. As I was at a French 'stage*' week we were all in Gm - I actually did transpose once I got home.

It's the old bind - nice foreign stuff in say Am - you  switch it to Em to make it work - your session gets used to it and joins in - it becomes a standard - then you go back abroad  :-\

*stage = course/training (usually up in nice hills)! 8)

Thanks Simon, you've done it again! The mus file was for Finale Notation Notepad 2004 which bizarrely won't open in FNP 2006. The tef file was a TablEdit file and I've been able to print it out using TablEdit File Viewer.

I'd love to play it but if Chris finds it a 'pig' to play maybe I should wait a bit as I'm just a beginner.

Thanks

Gmin is the minor key for a F/Bb instrument but if you can transpose it to Emin it will be just right for a D/G.

Should have thought of that. Those French cornemuse players make everything sound like a bourree. With that speed you'd have to be on the moon to dance a scottish.  (:)

Must be something wrong with that file. It also won't open in Finale 2008.

I'm a total dunce with computers, is there any chance you could post your results from the TablEdit File Viewer.? Cheers.

Thanks Chris. I wasn't put off - it seems to sit quite nicely in Em

Happy playing.
