I have come to the BCC# from D/G relatively recently and jumped straight in using all three rows, on the principal that they were all there to be used. However, as a result of a weekend under the influence of Graeme Mackay and his Grandad I do now practice scales regularly. I play a scale of A for example a few times through if I am going to tackle a new tune in A this gives me the 'feel' of A and prepares me a little for the places where a run of pulls could turn the accordion into a set of chest expanders, unless recourse is made to the inner row.
