It's not a border tune, but the Rochdale Coconut

Oh yes it is >:(

Oh! no it isn't

It's not a Border tune, it's a tune used for Border  :P

Fair enough Lester.  Same goes for most if not all tunes used for Cotswold ;)

What - they're all used for border as well?  ;D

Among others, Saltarelle Pastourelle II D/G; Hohner 4-stop 1-rows in C & G; assorted Hohners; 3-voice German (?) G/C of uncertain parentage; lovely little Hlavacek 1-row Heligonka; B♭/E♭ Koch. Newly acquired G/C Hohner Viktoria. Also Fender Jazz bass, Telecaster, Stratocaster, Epiphone Sheraton, Charvel-Jackson 00-style acoustic guitar, Danelectro 12-string and other stuff..........

I think it's down to the fact that Cotswold morris has traditions Border just has habits  :)

As always you are correct, Young Lester but why are their habits all filthy?

I enjoyed this thread, because I'm thinking of getting myself a new One Row & I'm also seriously thinking of getting a C Box.

At our Saturday night Session, we usually play & sing most stuff in C or F, so I'd get a fair bit of use out of it there.

Also, as far as Fiddlers go, I'm one myself & have no problem tuning down to C, or even B or Bb if an Uilleann Piper joins us with a Flat set of Pipes. I know some Fiddlers are fussy that way, but the fact is, I enjoy playing in C so much, that I always carry a 2nd Fiddle in the boot, which is always tuned down to C anyway. ;) So if they have a problem with it, they can always borrow my 2nd one!  :D

Of course, most tunes are in D at our other sessions ... which makes me wonder, was there ever such a thing as a C/D Melodeon;)

Cheers
