Phil Archer dies in real life

Rather than a few minutes silence shouldn't there be a mass Barwick Green? It was always a good standby in our band and you can use it in different rhythms.

For those who don't understand

Tune is here

Seems to include the "Grace has died trying to rescue the horses" minor key second part  ;)

It is Phil Archer who has died - Dan died years ago!!!

In parts of the world where Radio 4 doesn't reach? Or maybe in a generation that doesn't realise The Archers even exist!  >:E

Don't get radio 4 in Inverness

But I have heard of the Archers, only because of Radio 2 doing the odd bit of promo

This thread is a complete mystery to me. I take it, from the generally jaunty tone, that Phil isn't actually a real person?

Technically its the actor who has died, the character is still alive! (from a long term "archers" fan).

Just to follow up an earlier comment, I think modern soaps seem to be characterised (on the telly anyway) by much of the time the characters are shouting at each other.  Normally this does NOT happen in the archers (which i think is more like real life).

Of course Phil is a real person!!!! It is sheer castism (technical Archers Fanatic phrase indicating that the people of Ambridge are dependant upon a fictitious "cast" for their existence) to suggest otherwise!  ::)

May God be good to Norman Painting.

Chris.

What's more Larry laPrise who wrote 'The Hokey Cokey' died peacefully at 93.  The trouble started when they tried to get him in the coffin.
