Fingering for Amazing Grace in G
« on: November 15, 2009, 12:47:05 PM »

I'm working on the tune Amazing Grace in G. The tune is quite easy but I have problems with the fingering around the E note played on the D row in bars/measures 3,4 and 11,12 (see the attached music).
Could you give me hints for the correct fingering?
Thank You,
Miki

Just seems a simple index finger on the D row E note, but maybe someone has a better explanation. The E is forced, no options obviously..

Your index is already in place for the next D note,

I agree with stevejay.

Looking at the notation it goes from D to D an octave above.  If you are playing on a D/G box you cna do it without moving your hand position at all index finger on button 3 on D row,  then the remaining 3 fingers onbuttons 3 4 and 5 on G row cover all the notes your need. But perhaps you are not using a D/G box?

assuming you are playing a BC b ox with C on 4th button the following works well.

start with fingers resting on buttons 4567 - bar 4 play Eon D row with 2nd finger.

Bar 7 move fingers along to buttons 5678

bar 11 move figners back to 4567 :& again play low E with 2nd finer

(note both E's on D row push)

this fingering puts yu back ready to start again.

hope this helps

not sure what you mean by the E is forced, no options? on a BC the E is available in either direction

How silly I was! I wanted the fingering for a D/G accordion.
Sorry for the confusion, and Thank You for the Help!
Thank You Again!
