I tried to play it in minor then major- mistakes and all.

Very nice, especially the minor version.

This version has been handed down through my Irish ancestry. I think there may have been some influence from across the pond before St Patrick got there and sorted them out.  ;) ;D

Here's a quick one before I scoot to the pub (if I can find it in this fog!)

Well, here's mine... Though I rather think I should have waited until the end of the month. I haven't been playing all that long...

That was wonderful. How nice it must be to be able to sing along with the box. I am quite envious... :-X

Here's my attempt at a minor key version. My 'lil pocket camera I use for video is on loan, so I pastiche'd together a windows media fantasy to accompany. Played on the Weltmeister 1 row Cajun & guitar:

Thanks Rees - we have our influences!

I'm reminded I should try to get hold of the rest of his books - they're good reading. Did you know that his old barge Cambria's currently being refurbished at Faversham?

Here's my attempt at a minor key version. My 'lil pocket camera I use for video is on loan  ..

Astonishing! That's quite the most subtle and beautiful thing I've heard played on a Cajun box.   Quite yummy.

Felt Rees's waltz flowed really well too.  The quiet but insistent "duuum cha" bass would have swept me along.  That long held top octave note against the C chord in the second time really lifted it.   Anyone who doesn't use their little finger much - that's a shrewd and very effective trick - bang it on and forget about it for 2 bars  ;)  I use it in Orange/Blue but wouldn't have thought of it here. Thanks Reees. Thanks Mr Forrest.   What a contrast!

Beautiful, more dots than the version I've got, I can drift away to this.

And this is why I love TOTM, Saturday morning lifted by 3 very different versions of the 'same' tune. (Well, the same title anyway!)

Lovely stuff ldt, pleased to see that you are trying new things with the basses (:) You are sounding a lot more fluent on the keyboard as well, really nice to listen to.

Good stuff Sarah. Well done! Nice tempo. Of the two, I think version 3b is better - the tempo is steadier. I like what you are doing with the basses/chords.

On the down side, at the end of the descending phrase in bars 5 and 6, and where the same passage comes elsewhere, you are stumbling a little on the quick notes at the end of the sequence. This spoils it just a little, which is a shame. Do you know the bit I mean?
On your very first recording of PR here.....

.... you get it perfectly right, so I know you can do it.   ;)
