The Wearing of the Green(s)?
(A tune that can be a little tedious after playing zillions of times for a long figure in sword dancing, but brightened up by playing in the style of the Rising of Moon by Dubliners)

I really like your version too! Do you have the sheet music Janneke? I know it is on the video but it would be easier just to print it out . Thank you  (:)

Nicely done, but you can already play it!

Did see a reply to this which has disappeared from the screen for some reason. The answer is I don't think there are any rules, and your suggestion is entirely valid and very welcome, but you might miss out on learning something new for yourself.

You really are a teacher!  :|||: I only knew this tune (Leyas Vaggvisa) for 2 days. I can reassure you, I learn a new tune every week. The proof can be heard on my youtube channel.

I am quite new here, perhaps it has already been mentioned before, but I heard the polychromatic Parrot which I love seeing and hearing. This is my suggestion of “tune of the month”

The tune is Mr Cunningham's Maggot, composed by Ollie King. It is on his excellent debut CD - Gambit.
I believe Ollie played for Gog Magog for a while.

I was surprised to find La Mal Aimable has never been Tune of the Month, it may well have appreared in a few polls and never made it through but I really can't remember.

Here's a nice version played on a G/C Pokerwork

Galway Bay: Recent revelations about Melodeon Tattoo Aquisition  reminded me of alternative(?) London Irish (?) verses I heard over forty years ago.

"She's  map of Ireland tattooed on her backside/And when she takes a bath on Saturday/As she rubs the soap round Connemara/You can see the sunlight set on Galway Bay."

And I really want an excuse to learn to play the tune.
