I like the idea of something from Quebec but my main suggestion would be anything from the playing of Scan Tester (Anglo concertina player, 1886-1972).

I regularly participate in TotM but rarely (if ever?) make a suggestion for the next month.

Hunsdon House (found in Playford's Dancing Master)

It's a tune I've been meaning to learn for years. I think its difficulty is just in the right spot for most people to learn something new and at the same time provide a nice goal for beginners to strive for.

My favourite version is the one played by Martin Ellison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zFIFl4zxjg
Plenty other versions out there, of course. Just issue a quick search query to almighty google/youtube.

For future Theme of the Month could I suggest Film Themes. An example would be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_do8bOH-i0w probably played on a PA but equally at home on a semitone box.

Cheers.

Please can I nominate Son ar Christr.
It is both unusual (in these parts) and accessible. What more could you ask?

Yes - great tune!

NB: I think we (including myself ::)) are in danger of perpetuating typos here. The word is Chistr, not Christr; nothing to do with Christ and everything to do with Breton cider (which is glorious, as I can personally testify!) :|glug

The drink emoticon looks more like stout than cider...

Thanks. I cut and pasted it from somewhere. Didn't known any better. I had noticed it seemed to vary with the source.

Yes! But trying to play it like Sandy is going to take me a few years I think, so hold off a bit while I work on it...  ;D

That would be great for the likes of me, Arty. But my favourite tune changes very often, sometimes like.....every few days!

I would like to suggest "isolation" as theme of the month for April....it would at least be topical.

Though I have to admit "favourite tunes" (that I can play) has it's attractions.
