McNulty Family
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:36:19 PM »

I'm not sure if these McNulty Family recordings were posted in other threads about the relevant instruments (the recordings seem vaguely familiar), but I thought they were interesting enough to go ahead and share.  At times I can't tell whether those are roaring basses in the background, or the piano, or both!  Does anyone know which box she is playing in each recording (Baldoni, Walters, Superior, etc.)?

I would imagine it would be pretty hard to know which box she plays in what recording, unless we knew certain boxes were pitched in certain keys (Ted McGraw may have mentionned this somewhere?)and then comparing to the key the song is in (it's too late here now to break out any instruments to check) I remember hearing some were in D, another in C and maybe others in G and or A? Perhaps some of her boxes were of different voices as well (4, 6, maybe even an 8 reed box?) and could be distinguishable in recordings. None the less, would be fun to compare and find out!
