Faraway and Fish Head
« on: January 15, 2010, 03:52:23 PM »

I remember seeing Faraway in one of the monthly TOTM vote lists!

So thought i'd have a quick go at recording another nice tuneset i used to play ....2 Tunes, first is 'Faraway ' Composed in 1985 by Pete Jung ( Kingston N.Y.) and the second is one of my own called the 'Fish Head Waltz' Played on My Loffet CF   (not the easiest of tunes either)

Very nice **DTN**. Love the second tune. It was me who posted Faraway as a TOTM suggestion, it's one of my favourite tunes. I think we paired it up with The Balquhidder Lasses but your tune is a much better pairing. Thanks for that.

Any dots or ABC for Fish Head???

Original from a few years ago in a different  key!!!

The Bernard Loffet sounds lovely. It was B.L's website where I first came across Faraway, along with some lovely french stuff.

Very nice as a duet. You are obviously very adept at learning tunes without staff or ABC. I, on the other hand, am not. It's something I wish I had the time to devote to. It's a very good skill to have. ABC is such a brilliant system, very useful when trying to transpose a tune, and well worth a look - IMHO ;)
