I have learnt this tune for this month and I am trying so hard to get it up on this forum. So far I have managed to record into my mac now I need to be able to get it onto you tube and time is running out :-[

Now that we have successfully moved form Paris, France to Copenhagen, Denmark, and I am getting settled into my new job, our lives are returning to normal --- except for the subzero temperatures outside and early morning commutes. Luckily, our apartment is much more insulated than our Parisian apartment, and I needn't practice under a blanket. So here is my contribution to the February ToTM. Sorry about the melodeon face; you can't see it, but you can feel it.

Thank you for all the other videos everyone!

Well it's a wet slushy Sunday and I'm bored. Fed up with all the snow and looking forward to Melodeons and More and my trip to England in general

This was requested. So I thought I'd have a go. I mean how hard could it be. Bit of fun really Enjoy

There, you see, not always late, albeit at the last minute.

It certainly is - YouTube says "not processed" - only a matter of minutes though....

Sorry about the above nonsense ... I found a converter that turned normal text upside down - it "previewed" fine in the forum, then got lost (to say the least) in translation when I posted it. Original read "that's proper bonze, mate". Ah well. Won't try that again!  :|bl  :-\

Just sliding in under the wire with this one. Been a bit preoccupied with other things this month.
Cheap ideas and rough execution. Still, get it posted and move on:

Never mind - try again when you get a chance - we'd all love to hear it anyway, even though we're entering March. I don't know how you've been trying to upload it, but you may want to try onmvoice.com or youtube.com to host your recording and post a link to it here. Trying to upload a .mp3 file directly to the forum will probably be too big for the forum software to cope and is unlikely to work.

Good luck!

Clive

Great job, Neil! You get a lot of music out of that Morgane.

Good work Neil! As a newbie to melnet and TOTM it still hasn't stopped amazing me how many different variations there can be to just one tune - it's really inspiring and thought provoking.

I particularly like your use of the A chord in the A music ... just this one change gives a very different feel to the piece.
Respect to your bass runs too!

I hope you enjoy the March tune too ...  a real belter imho.

Many thanks, Chris. The month taken learning a tune is an interesting journey. I started off listening to some very nice versions of the tune by forum members and thinking that's the way I'd like to play it. As the month progressed a different version started to take over and the left hand C and D became less used. Maybe more a sombre February version than an upbeat Spring one!

Cheers

OK - a few weeks late but finally got Mr Scally to make a video. Just a short version of OiB as a jig. I've been playing with lots of the new ideas here on ToTM but I was trying to get a recording to send to my Mum for mother's day. The extra pressure meant a super simple approach ;)
