Eleanor Plunkett isn't a tune I've previously heard played by anyone. I have now and I like it! Lovely playing.

Here's another O'Carolan piece,  "Morgan Magan", this time on the 30 button anglo concertina, (just to keep adept at the small buttons, of course). The concertina is in G/D, made by Robert Tedrow.

Also, here's another link with a great selection of O'Carolan tunes, if anyone wants to jump in.......

Here's my bit of Carolan goodness for this month,

Si Bheag Si Mhor

Played on a Castagnari Mory (unisonoric basses again) in D/G (and in fact, completely on the D row). I think it probably also includes about the worst case of melodeon face I've *ever* seen  ;D

Cheers,

Clive

Really lovely Clive, I didn't know this tune.

Glad you like it! I first heard it played by Dave Swarbrick (English fiddle player) I think - possibly on one of his 'solo' albums (with most of Fairport Convention accompanying him!), which are lovely music. Just for once I haven't messed around with time signature, although I confess to one extra bar somewhere.

Cheers,

Clive

I confess to knowing little about the composer or the music, so resorted to choosing something from the title list at random and then just going for it.  As it turned out, I know a real Mrs Harwood....

Well I didn't even know there was such a chap as T. O'Carolan.  When I looked at the long list of titles, I didn't recognize any names, so I just went with the most interesting one to me (Si'bheg and Si'mhor).  Little did I know that it is one of the most popular tunes..... AND that Clive would beat me to it.  Anyway, here 'tis... as lovely as I could make it in 3 short weeks:

Here's an eleventh hour fling at the O'Carolan list, being in a rather reflective mood, I decided to try "Captain O'Kane". Just under the wire, played on the one-row pokerwork (that I'm wasting so much valuable time on), with guitar acc'mp'ny'm'nt.

Gosh J.W. That was captivatingly beautiful and clever! Wow!!!

Thanks, Chris. Made some rather unfortunate timing errors, though. I still am obstinate about using the metronome, but now I see it's essential to keep proper pace on these things.......cheers  ;D
