It's a lovely tune, and sounds like another version of King of the Fairies, or Cuckoo's Nest.

I'd like to learn it, but I find it difficult to keep several versions of similar tunes going in my head without drifting off from one to another whilst playing them, unless I've got the dots in front of me. I've already got to that stage with this family of tunes.

 Do others have this problem, or is it just me?

OK, I've just worked out where I know it from! There's a version on Bernard Loffet's first CD.

Thanks all. The Steve Jones ver was closest to the tune I had heard.  But Chris you are right, it's like googling, there are all of these human computers running in parallel, very fast.

So I found right name but wrong tune - close but no cigar    .

The method I use for these sort of things is to go to JCs Tune Finder and type in the name requested "Pride of Portravor" which returned no results, so I the deleted the bit most likely to be wrong and searched on "Pride of" which returns many results including "Pride of Petravore". Unfortunately at that point I grabbed the first one which it seems was wrong  , If I had been looking for a tune I knew I would have played the midi and known better.

Not all your fault Lester. It says here also know as   "Eileen Og,  Eileen Oge, Eileen Ogg, Eileen Oige, Molly At The Fair, Pride Of Petravore.

This is such a lovely way of playing this tune.

DTN.....I wonder if you would be able to put a slower version up as there is a lot going on in that there tune. I can play along with it of a sort but it is sooo nice I don't want to miss anything. I probably don't have all of the notes but can work around that. I have looked at the notation but prefer your version If you have time of course
