Paul Brock: Old Grey Paolo

Here's a man that doesn't get much of a mention often but has a great lift and swing to his music and of course a great sounding box!

PS try to ignore the pounding electronic keyboard..  :-[

Just saw that clip on Geantrai the other day - great playing, and VERY nice box. I still think his album with Gavin is just about the best around for traditional Irish.

PS: I agree about the piano... Keep it simple!

Lovely sounding 'box being played well. Is it just the recording or the age of the 'box - it seems to be a good semi-tone sharp?

Is he simply playing in the 'People's key' - A major ???  Whoops. :|bl

Yes, his box is tuned D/D# or eflat as it's also known. Some of the old Paolo Sopranis like this one were tuned to that pitch. It is a lovely sounding box and played masterfully by Paul.
