This would stand out at the session down at the Dog and Ferret Metalflake Morino Club

I saw this and quite fancied it, but I'm not sure about the Morino attribution.   There is no Morino name on it anywhere (I asked the seller) so while it is undoubtedly a high quality Hohner I'm not sure....

And I have just looked up the pre-war Morinos in "History Unfolds..." and there are two Morino models there with only the Hohner name visible.

If I had some spare cash i think I would buy this box.  I'd say the collectors probably have their eye on it tho.

I've just comitted to buying a morino club that was advertised here not long ago so I've run out of spare pennies.

What is History Unfolds?

It is a book published by Hohner in 2004 to celebrate 100 years of accordion building.

I agree completely. The only one to top that is the one I wish I never sold: the shaggy-fleece finished Merino Club.... If I locate the old polaroids I will scan and post them.

I reckon it looks fantastic.  There is a Shand Morino finished like that too.  Played it a couple of years ago.  It's owned by a collector.

I especially like the massive HOHNER badge!

I'd read about a Swiss connection to the Shand Morino which can be easily seen in the style bass button layout.I think there might also be a Swiss origin to this instrument.

This Swiss collector has a few instruments similar to the one being sold

Haha you got  me there Pete!

It's not an everyday box tho and I do think it looks great.  It'll be interesting to see what price it fetches.

An Al!!!  Girls need boxes too!  Don't be descriminating now... :|||:

The original Shand Morino was I believe mostly designed and made in Switzerland due to Adolf interfering with his neighbours.  That was where the hohner Echo also came from during this period, only I'm told Morino couldn't put his name to it because he wasn't really supposed to be there.  not sure how true that is but it's a nice story and could also explain why the name Morino is not on this box....
