I'd  thought "Travelling Morrice" disbanded in the 30's - at least my own tutor Sydney Smith said so.  "Well  re-formed" in that case.  I didn't know there was a  "Wheatley" Trunkles. It's a lovely dance, tune , and well played too (someone has to say that - the Morris Dancers never do) ..   :|glug

Hehe, no, there has been at least one Travelling Morrice tour every year since 1924 (apart from the war years). I feel very proud to be a member, considering the history.

Yes, Wheatley Trunkles is a great dance, and awesome tune. Hope no one noticed the extra half bar in the first B music.  :-[ Thanks.  :|glug

Well played Ollie, I'll have to get the Black Book out for that Wheatley tune.

Just a note to say that I morphed into the Wheatley Processional at the end, as Trunkles doesn't really finish as a tune.

I thought the bladder incident very funny, just goes to show that you should never lend another man your bladder! Great playing, you showed real stamina there. And I didn't really think the jig was tooo quick, 'bout right to dance to if you're quite tired already  ;) I'm well impressed - keep up the good work!

I had a dream about playing Wheatley Trunkles and morphing into the processional. As usual, when dreaming I can play any instrument except for those that I can play in real life...

In days long gone by, Thames Valley Morris Men, with whom I then danced, used to do Wheatley Processional into Wheatley Trunkles back into the Processional as a show dance. Starting from the crowd to process on do the dance and then process off into the crowd again. Was a bit of a crowd pleaser.

Even later entry, and my first one!

Monk's March http://www.onmvoice.com/play.php?a=29821.

Do not try and dance it at this speed I suspect it would do horrid things to your ankles (first time nerves is my excuse).

Played on bandoneon, first time through is left hand only.  One take recorded on my Zoom H2.

Fantastic! It's got a lovely sound, and the speed is about right (it's a heel-and-toe dance, rather than normal stepping, so goes a bit quicker). Very well done!  (:)
