Part of a description of a current eBay pokerwork:

"...one of the buttons is chipped, which I think adds character myself."

Hmmm. Could be painful on the finger tips.   :'(

But then again, my old soccer coach always said there's nothing like a bit of pain to build character.    :D

Perhaps those who say that wet tuned melodeons hurt their ears should take note.... >:E

On ebay.com.au today:

Vintage Italian Scandalli Accordion

If you are looking for a nice vintage instrument to have lying around your house, then this is it!
It is NOT in playing condition; it makes plenty of sound but many keys do not work. Three keys are missing.
Although it is not playable it is a wonderful vintage instrument that would look great as a bar piece or collection in any games room, shed, kitchen or living room.

yep... she's myne now, tuned C/F, "great as a bar piece:||: :|glug, "It is NOT in playing condition"
re-positioned the 3 missing buttons which were hiding within the Bass action

Part of the description of a recently listed box on ebay

"...the bellows go in and out when the buttons are pressed..."

From a Babelfish translated German description...

"Also outstanding suitably as decoration in a music, or Ladengeschäft, also as Wohnzimmerdeko, hairdresser salon, etc. a eyecatcher."

Yes, if I ever open a hair salon, the first thing I will look for is a decorative melodeon to go on the wall...  ???

I knew Adams had it right -- that damn Babelfish is more trouble than its worth, giving translations like that!  (:)

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.
