I've just found a version of Rusty Gully in Brian Peters' "Rattle and Roll" book with another 8 bars of music i.e. double the length. I think that might be the version for me to learn.

I'll post ABC if anyone else wants it...

Those two youngsters are very talented, but as yet they have little idea about where the music is in the tune. They are playing it far too fast and it is just a blur of notes. Someone needs to take them to one side and have a quiet word in their lugs about 'dance', 'tempo' and 'musicianship'. They'll learn....

Yup, really good stuff 'muffled' by going too fast.

I find that this happens a lot with folkies of that age. I was very guilty of it in the past.  :-[

I love DTN's version too, but will never be able to play it like that!

No, no. If you must burn bridges, do so only after you cross them, not before!    ;)

Yes, and excess speed is not exclusively a feature of younger muso's playing.

On the other hand I enjoy listening and dancing to really good players who can play at speed and still keep in the groove!

Wasn't really what I meant. There are tunes that are frankly designed for 'flat out'. And dances that go with them. And they ain't easy. But others lose a certain 'grace' at double speed.
